Beldi translates as traditional or indigenous. These cups may be hand-thrown in an orthodox manner initially, but the design and finish is anything but. In fact the only remaining distinguishable characteristics linked with any form of heritage are cups that portray the riot of colour generally associated with Marrakech, and a handmade aura. The lovely wonky wobbliness and poured on colour-crazy glaze shoots these cups way up into the heady stratosphere of contemporary design realms and are perfect examples of traditional, but with a major twist, dip and a dent!
